In the examples shown, GoVault is attached as Device 1 and the

Transfer Mode is PIA Only.

7 To change the transfer mode, select

DMA if available from the Transfer

Mode

list box (see figure 43).

8 Click OK to close the IDE Channel Properties dialog.

9 To implement the change:

a Save and close your open files and terminate all running

applications.

b Restart the workstation or server system.

10 When the system restarts, verify that DMA is configured as the

GoVault transfer mode (see figure 44

) as follows:

a Repeat steps 1 through 3 of Determining Your Motherboard

Configuration on page 67 to find the QUANTUM GoVault listing

Device Manager.
